Coalition naval forces strike Houthi targets in Hodeidah, thwart planned Red Sea attacks

RIYADH — Naval forces from the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen carried out a military operation in Yemen’s Hodeidah province, destroying Houthi military targets and thwarting planned attacks on waterways in the southern Red Sea, coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki said Monday.Al-Maliki said the operation destroyed a legitimate military targets belonging to the Houthis, including weapons storage facilities, depots housing explosive-laden boats and naval mines.He said the operation also thwarted a Houthi plan to carry out imminent attacks targeting waterways in the southern Red Sea.Al-Maliki said the operation was conducted as part of the coalition’s efforts to protect maritime navigation and security in the Bab Al-Mandab Strait.
