In this context, China called for the reopening of shipping lanes as soon as possible, in response to the appeals of the international community, and for “working together to maintain the stability and smooth flow of global supply chains.” Bilateral Relations Regarding bilateral relations between the United States and China, US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to establish a “constructive and stable strategic relationship” as a new direction for Sino-American relations.
