By Mohamed Attia Cairo International Airport reported a steady rise in traffic during August 2026 compared to the same month last year. A clear increase in both traveler numbers and flight volumes helped drive this upward trend. Official operational figures for August 2026 show that the airport welcomed 3,133,767 passengers, reflecting a 9% increase over the 2,869,522 passengers recorded in August 2025. Flight activity grew alongside passenger numbers, rising 11% to reach 22,053 flights compared to 19,895 flights during the same month last year. This steady progress supports ongoing work by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation to improve daily operations and elevate the passenger experience while maintaining strict safety and service standards. Chairman of Cairo Airport Company Magdy Ishaq noted that these gains highlight the smooth performance of the airport’s teams and operational systems. He affirmed that the company will keep upgrading facilities and expanding capacity to handle growing traffic and maintain Cairo’s role as a major travel hub.
