Banque Misr, Awqaf Minister offer 6-month interest-free installments for udhiyah sukuk

Banque Misr has signed a cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Awqaf on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Cabinet headquarters, in the presence of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly. The signing was attended by Minister of Awqaf Osama Al-Azhari, CEO of Banque Misr Hesham Okasha, and Head of the Retail Banking and Branches Sector at Banque Misr Ehab Doraa, along with a distinguished group of officials from both sides. The protocol aims to provide advanced payment solutions to facilitate services offered to citizens. This cooperation comes in line with the State’s direction to expand cashless payment systems. Under the agreement, Banque Misr will offer installment plans for the Ministry of Awqaf’s Udhiyah Sukuk, sacrificial meat certificates, for up to six months with no interest or administrative fees for Banque Misr credit card holders. The installment service will be executed through the bank’s call center at 19888. Al-Azhari stated that the signing coincides with the approaching Eidul Adha as part of State efforts to expand social protection and strengthen community solidarity initiatives. He explained that the cooperation aims to facilitate access to Udhiyah Sukuk and ensure they reach eligible beneficiaries, thereby contributing to spreading happiness among underprivileged families during this blessed occasion. Al-Azhari praised the partnership between the Ministry and the bank for easing procedures for those wishing to fulfill this religious practice, emphasizing values of generosity, giving, and solidarity that are deeply rooted in Egyptian society. Hesham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, affirmed that the protocol reflects the bank’s integrated strategic vision to reinforce its role as a key national partner in supporting State institutions and developing public services in line with digital transformation requirements. He noted that the bank continuously enhances its services to facilitate financial transactions and continues to expand digital solutions in support of the State’s vision for a less cash-dependent society. Banque Misr places citizens at the core of its priorities by offering modern and secure banking solutions that facilitate daily life and support digital transformation, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development.
