Bahraini Crown Prince meets with Saudi health minister

MANAMA — Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel during a meeting with heads of delegations participating in the 12th meeting of the Committee of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Health Ministers.During the meeting, Al-Jalajel conveyed the greetings of the Saudi leadership and its wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Bahrain and its people. The two sides reaffirmed the deep-rooted fraternal ties among GCC countries and stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen joint Gulf cooperation, particularly in the health sector, to help develop health systems and improve their preparedness and efficiency.Al-Jalajel also participated in the 12th meeting of the Committee of GCC Health Ministers and the 89th meeting of the GCC Council of Health Ministers, both held in Bahrain. The meetings addressed shared health priorities and ways to strengthen coordination and integration among GCC countries.Discussions covered several priority issues, including promoting innovation and digital transformation in the health sector, strengthening health preparedness, and following up on the implementation of the Committee of GCC Health Ministers’ Unified Action Plan for 2026–2030. They also addressed ways to develop cooperation and exchange expertise and successful practices to improve the efficiency and sustainability of health systems and health outcomes across GCC countries.Al-Jalajel also held several meetings with participating ministers to discuss opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest in the health sector. He welcomed the GCC health ministers to Saudi Arabia in 2027, when the Kingdom will host the 47th session of the GCC Supreme Council.
