Kuwait welcomed the statement issued by the members of the UN Security Council, which condemned the missile attacks launched by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia since July 13, and the attacks against commercial vessels since July 22. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s full appreciation for the statement’s emphasis on the need to uphold international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216. It also welcomed the call to respect the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Yemen, and to reject actions that threaten regional security and the rights and freedoms of maritime navigation, SPA reported. Kuwait reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty and security. It also reaffirmed its support for the legitimate Yemeni government and for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General’s special envoy for Yemen to achieve peace, security, and stability in Yemen. For his part, Bahrain also welcomed the statement issued by the members of the United Nations Security Council condemning the missile attacks launched by the Houthi terrorist militia against the Kingdom and threatening the safety of commercial vessels, and which underscored the importance of upholding international law, relevant Security Council resolutions, Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, independence, and territorial integrity, and freedom of maritime navigation. According to SPA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, stability, and vital interests, emphasizing that Saudi Arabia’s security and stability are integral to the security of Bahrain and all Gulf states. The ministry expressed Bahrain’s appreciation for the diplomatic, developmental, and humanitarian efforts undertaken by Saudi Arabia, under its leadership of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, in support of efforts to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable political solution. It further highlighted Saudi Arabia’s vital role in establishing the Multinational Maritime Defense Coalition to enhance maritime security, protect freedom of navigation and international trade, and safeguard global energy supplies.
