By Mohamed Attia Aswan International Airport welcomed the first flight operated by Freebird Airlines Europe as part of a new programme connecting Aswan with several German cities. The first flight arrived from Stuttgart carrying around 180 passengers and will continue its route to Berlin. Upon arrival, the aircraft received the traditional water salute. The public relations team at Aswan International Airport welcomed the passengers and presented them with souvenirs. Coordination was also carried out with the various departments and authorities operating at the airport to provide the necessary assistance and ensure a smooth and quick arrival process. The operating programme will run throughout the winter season, with one flight per day, covering several major German cities, including Stuttgart, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, and Hanover. This will expand direct connectivity to Aswan, support tourism in southern Egypt, and strengthen Aswan’s position as one of the leading winter tourism destinations. The launch of Freebird flights comes as part of the efforts of the Egyptian Airports Company, headed by Captain Wael el-Nashar, to expand air connectivity through its airports and strengthen co-operation with airlines and international markets. This is being carried out alongside efforts to improve airport efficiency, enhance service levels, and maintain operational readiness in line with the growth in travel and tourism.
