CAIRO — Al-Ahly recorded an impressive victory against their arch-rivals Zamalek with a 3-0 win in their Cairo derby match on Friday night at Cairo International Stadium, as part of fifth round of Egyptian Premier League championship playoffs. Zamalek now has 50 points, holding onto their spot at the top of the domestic league on goal difference over Pyramids FC. Al-Ahly moves up to 47 points and stays in third place. The Red Devils broke the deadlock in the 18th minute when Moroccan left-winger Achraf Bencharki found the net after receiving an accurate cross from Taher Mohamed Taher. Al-Ahly doubled their lead in the 31st minute, when Bencharki assisted Hussein el-Shahat who chipped the ball from the penalty area to extend the lead to 2-0. Bencharki scored his second goal in the 74th minute after Emam Ashour slipped him a through ball, sealing the match at 3-0 for Al-Ahly.
