Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has introduced a new digital service that enables individual employers to register and pay employees’ salaries directly through the ADIB Mobile Banking app, while corporate employers can access the service via the ADIB Direct app.ADIB is among the first banks to offer this service, which aligns fully with the regulatory framework of the UAE’s Wage Protection System (WPS). The solution was developed in collaboration with Al Etihad Payments (AEP) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) to ensure compliance with all national regulations.Through the integration of WPS, employers can retrieve and verify employee data, validate salary information, and report both paid and unpaid wages with required justifications. The system also introduces in-country employee verification and enhances transparency, auditability, and regulatory reporting. The digital-first solution improves accuracy while offering employers greater compliance, visibility, and control. It eliminates the need for physical documentation and provides direct access to MoHRE databases through ADIB’s secure digital platforms. The initiative reflects ADIB’s commitment to delivering Shari’ah-compliant, regulator-ready digital solutions across personal, SME, and corporate banking, supporting its vision to become the world’s most innovative Islamic bank by 2035.
