Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Municipality carried out an awareness and inspection campaign targeting owners and employees of children’s salons, both inside and outside Abu Dhabi Island, as part of its efforts to promote public health levels, improve the quality of services provided to children, and ensure the provision of a safe and clean environment that complies with the approved health requirements for commercial activities.The campaign aimed to raise awareness among children’s salon owners and employees about the importance of adhering to health requirements when receiving children and providing services to them, in addition to emphasising the responsibility of establishments to maintain general cleanliness, and to carry out cleaning and sterilisation work continuously and periodically, in order to protect the health of children, employees and customers, and to reduce any practices that may affect their safety.The campaign included field visits to several children’s salons and establishments operating in this field in different areas, with the aim of verifying their compliance with the health conditions and regulations governing the activity. The visits also included monitoring the level of general cleanliness within the establishments, the extent to which periodic cleaning procedures are applied, and ensuring that workers adhere to sound health practices while providing services to children.During the campaign, municipal inspectors focused on raising awareness among salon owners and employees about the need to maintain the cleanliness of all facilities, tools and equipment used, and areas for receiving children and providing services, while emphasising the importance of applying health procedures permanently, and not limiting them to inspection visit times only.The campaign also aimed to raise awareness of the health requirements that must be implemented in children's salons, highlighting the impact of adhering to them in providing a healthy and safe environment and enhancing the confidence of families and clients in the services offered. The establishments visited were reminded of the importance of addressing any identified issues and continuing to monitor cleaning and maintenance practices, including the regular cleaning of all facilities and equipment.
