Abu Dhabi closes ‘Yummy Indian Bite’ restaurant over food safety violations

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has issued a temporary administrative closure order against Yummy Indian Bite Restaurant LLC – Branch in Abu Dhabi, which holds commercial licence number CN-2837801, for violating food safety regulations and posing a risk to public health.The authority said the closure was issued in accordance with Law No. (2) of 2008 concerning food in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and related legislation.According to ADAFSA, the decision was based on a food control report that documented repeated food safety violations and the establishment's failure to implement effective corrective measures.The authority said immediate action was necessary to ensure food safety and protect consumer health.ADAFSA confirmed that the closure will remain in effect until the violations are addressed and all food safety requirements have been fully met. The restaurant may resume operations only after its conditions have been corrected and compliance has been verified.The authority noted that administrative closures and public disclosure of violations form part of its strategy to strengthen the food safety system in Abu Dhabi and ensure that food establishments comply with regulatory requirements through regular inspections.ADAFSA urged members of the public to report any violations observed at food establishments or concerns about food products by contacting the Abu Dhabi Government's toll-free number 800555, enabling inspectors to take the necessary measures to safeguard public health and ensure the provision of safe food across the emirate.
