Absher unlocks 23 services through electronic authorization

RIYADH — The Saudi General Directorate of Passports has announced the services available through electronic authorization and provided a list of services that can be accessed through its account on the Absher platform. The service enables Absher users to electronically authorize another person to complete a service on their behalf. Users can also view and cancel issued authorizations through Absher Individuals services. The electronic authorization services include issuing and canceling travel permits for dependents; reporting lost or damaged passports; issuing and renewing iqama (residency permit) of expatriates; receiving printed copy of iqamas; issuing and canceling exit and re-entry visas; issuing and canceling final exit visas; reporting lost iqamas; reporting lost passports of expatriates; reporting absconding of workers; and adding and removing dependents. The list of available electronic authorization services also includes transferring a dependent status of head of household; changing professions; transferring services; transferring information; extending visit visas; issuing and renewing passports; receiving passports; registering a "left and not returned" status; authorizing resident services; and checking previous passports. To issue an authorization, the national identity card or iqama must be a valid one. In addition, both parties must be free of violations in their record or financial restrictions, depending on the type of service being authorized.
