RIYADH —The number of Saudi male and female citizens working in the contracting sector reached approximately 582,000 by the end of 2025. They include about 31700 engineers. According to a recent report issued by the Saudi Contractors Authority, Saudi workers in the contracting sector are distributed as follows: supportive - administrative and logistical jobs: more than 328000; technical jobs: 149,000; workers: 38700; engineers: 31700; and other professions: more than 34000. The report indicated that the number of establishments in the contracting sector in 2025 reached 365,000, recording an increase of 29.6 percent compared to 2024. Micro establishments accounted for the largest share of the total establishments at 85 percent, followed by small establishments at 12.5 percent, then medium establishments at 2.34 percent, while large and giant establishments constituted the lowest percentage combined at about 0.26 percent.
