By Mohamed Attia Cairo International Airport continued to record positive performance indicators in passenger and flight traffic during May 2026, receiving and departing more than 2.2 million travellers. The total number of passengers during the month reached 2,225,405, while the total number of flights reached 17,480. The airport recorded 1,060,831 departing passengers on 8,778 flights, compared to 1,164,574 arriving passengers on 8,702 flights. Accountant Magdy Ismail, Chairman of Cairo Airport Company, stated that the ongoing implementation of development and modernisation plans at Cairo International Airport comes in response to the growing air traffic demand and aims to enhance its ability to provide a comprehensive travel experience that reflects Egypt’s regional and international standing.
