RIYADH — Land, sea, and air Customs ports across Saudi Arabia recorded 1,039 seizures of contraband last week. The seized items included 190 types of narcotics such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, crystal meth, and Captagon pills, in addition to 375 other prohibited materials. Customs ports also foiled attempts to smuggle 1,951 units of tobacco and its derivatives, along with 79 types of cash and 6 types of weapons and related equipment. The seizures were part of the ongoing efforts of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) to strengthen security and protect society from all types and forms of prohibited substances. ZATCA affirmed its commitment to maintaining strict customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports to safeguard society and ensure security through continuous cooperation and coordination with all relevant partners. The authority called on the public to contribute to combating smuggling and protecting society and the national economy by reporting suspected violations through the dedicated security reports number 1910, email 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or the international number 009661910. ZATCA receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the provisions of the Unified Customs Law through these channels in complete confidentiality. A financial reward will also be provided to whistleblowers when the information contained in their reports is verified as accurate.
