UAE Sends 663 Tonnes of Aid to Gaza in Five Convoys

The National Committee for Artificial Intelligence held a strategic workshop with 100 government officials to accelerate implementation of AI projects, while the eighth edition of the UAE Artificial Intelligence Camp launched nationwide. Simultaneously, Dubai Municipality announced an automated building permit system powered by artificial intelligence, and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority inaugurated a 700-meter bridge at the intersection of Al-Qudra and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan streets.

Government bodies reinforced institutional partnerships focused on community welfare. Dubai Police and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding to support community and humanitarian initiatives. The Sharjah Public Works Department released its 2026 annual report documenting institutional achievements and project outcomes. The Ministry of Community Empowerment concluded the first edition of the Maqiz 2026 summer program, which ran from 20 July to 6 August, offering integrated community experiences.

Infrastructure and utilities expansion accelerated across the emirate system. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority announced the commissioning of 793 distribution substations at 11 kilovolts across various locations during a six-month period. The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority allocated 1.25 billion gallons of water to support strategic government agricultural projects and food security initiatives for wheat farming, dairy, and poultry operations. The General Pension and Social Security Authority clarified that employers who fail to submit contributions based on accurate wages face an additional 10 percent financial obligation.

Humanitarian operations and charitable programs maintained focus on vulnerable populations. The Emirates Cancer Society provided financial assistance and resources to 40 cancer patients during July, distributing AED 152,000 in support. The UAE continued regional humanitarian efforts, delivering five convoys carrying 663 tonnes of humanitarian assistance to Gaza during the week. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, offered condolences for the death of Yousef Jassem Al Nuaimi. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, expressed condolences following the death of Sheikha Amna bint Abdulaziz bin Mohammed.
