The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation across multiple domains, and the Egyptian minister expressed hope for the establishment of an Egyptian-Austrian parliamentary friendship group, a proposal he raised directly during a separate meeting with Austrian Parliament President Dr. Walter Rosenkranz. Dr. Abdel Aty also delivered a written message from the Egyptian President to Austrian Federal Chancellor Dr. Christian Stocker, underscoring the personal engagement at the highest levels of both governments.
On the regional front, Sada Al-Balad and Al-Fagr report that Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy conducted telephone consultations with the foreign ministers of Oman, Kuwait, and Sudan following Iranian attacks on Arab assets, including a strike on a Kuwaiti offshore oil platform that left an Egyptian worker injured.
