Brent Crude Jumps 1.5% to $110 on Middle East Supply Fears

Overview:

UAE financial markets showed mixed performance on Wednesday, with Dubai's index gaining 0.43 percent while Abu Dhabi declined. Major corporates delivered strong quarterly results: Emirates Islamic Bank reported nine-month profits of 2.7 billion dirhams with 6 percent income growth, while Dubai Commercial Bank posted 2.684 billion dirhams in net profit, up 4 percent. Regional logistics and energy sectors expanded investment footprints internationally, signaling sustained capital deployment confidence.

Details:

Corporate earnings momentum continued to support market activity. Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (Du) announced nine-month profits of 2.4 billion dirhams, up 10.8 percent, with business conditions stabilizing after earlier uncertainty. JP Morgan raised its target price for ADNOCs Supply and Services stock to 8.9 dirhams from 8.2 dirhams previously, reflecting analyst confidence in the energy services sector.

Energy markets reflected geopolitical pressures. Brent crude oil futures rose 1.5 percent to reach 110.38 dollars per barrel, driven by escalating supply concerns from the Middle East. The Emirates Global Aluminium Company completed repairs and resumed operations at half the smelting cells at its Taweelah facility, supporting industrial capacity recovery in the sector.

International expansion gained momentum across logistics operators. DP World expanded its specialized data center logistics network in the United States and commenced operations of 17 new automated gantry cranes at South Container Terminal in the Port of Jeddah, representing investment of 206 million dirhams. Separately, Sheikh Tahnoun's Al Nahyan family-led ADQ investment holding company consolidated its position among the world's top 50 investment groups alongside DP World, Mubadala, and DAMAC properties.

Outlook:

Investors are monitoring sustained earnings growth trajectories across UAE banking and energy sectors as regional economic conditions stabilize. Global oil price dynamics tied to Middle East geopolitical developments remain a key focus for market direction and energy company valuations in the coming weeks.
