UAE weather: Temperatures reach 49°C as humidity rises to 90%, with fog possible in Dubai, Abu Dhabi

Dubai: Hot and humid conditions are continuing today, across the UAE, as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather and building humidity.With relative humidity (RH) peaking at 90% in coastal and island areas, and at 85% in internal and mountainous regions of the UAE, you can expect the probability of fog or mist formation over some areas, like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The NCM advises driving cautiously in the early morning hours tomorrow, as visibility may be adversely affected.Temperatures in the mid-40sThe NCM expects temperatures to decrease starting tomorrow, but today’s mercury is holding steady in the mid-40s.Today, coastal and island regions are set to experience highs between 40°C and 45°C, while internal regions will be warmer, at 44°C to 49°C.Abu Dhabi will reach 44°C, while Dubai and Al Ain will peak at 43°C. Ras Al Khaimah will reach 42°C, Sharjah will see a high of 41°C, and Ajman 40°C. Fujairah will be relatively cooler, at 37°C. Liwa will experience the highest temperature in the country today, of 48°C.Gusts of dust, and calm seasLight to moderate southeasterly to northwesterly winds, freshening at times, will average speeds of 10 to 25km/h and increase to 35km/h along the coast and 40km/h inland, according to the NCM.
