Lebanon: Over 62,000 housing units destroyed or damaged by Israeli attacks

More than 62,000 housing units have been destroyed or damaged as a result of Israeli attacks on Lebanon during six weeks of war with Hezbollah, according to official figures. During a press conference presenting a report on the “environmental impact of the Israeli aggression”, Secretary-General of the National Council for Scientific Research, Shadi Abdullah said: “In about 45 days, we had 21,700 destroyed housing units and 40,500 damaged housing units.” The figures were compiled by the National Council for Scientific Research in Lebanon, which is assessing the scale of destruction across affected areas.
