اليوم ذكرى شهداء الصحافة اللبنانية. لم يبقَ من رجالات تلك المرحلة أحد. حتى الصحف التي تعود إلى ذلك الزمن، طوت صفحتها الأخيرة، مع إقفال جريدة "البيرق" في عام 2011، وهي التي أسّسها الصحافي سعيد فاضل عقل، عام 1911. وكان عقل صحافياً بارزاً وأحد شهداء الصحافة الذين أعدمهم جمال باشا في 6 أيار 1916. تستمرّ الصحف في لبنان وسط العاصفة، مجاهدة، شهيدة، وشاهدة، في آن واحد. وبعضها لا علاقة له بالمهنة في أساسها، ولا بالزمالة، ويعمد إلى توزيع شهادات بين الحين والآخر.
